Which Wildomar Public Records Exist
Wildomar public records follow the agency that made or received them. The City Clerk keeps official city files. Riverside County offices hold most land, court, custody, and certificate records. State agencies maintain business, license, unclaimed property, and prison databases. Access ranges from a free index to an eligibility-based copy process.
| File Group | Responsible Custodian | Digital Search | Coverage and Access |
|---|---|---|---|
| City actions and permits | Wildomar City Clerk | Online Records Library | City-era files where digitized; request fallback |
| Deeds and clerk documents | Riverside County ACR | Official Records Search | Recorder from 1974; clerk from 1893; copies cost extra |
| Court cases | Riverside Superior Court | Public Access | Account required; case number free, name search paid |
| Property and maps | Riverside County Assessor and GIS | RivCoView and Map My County | Free address, APN, parcel, and map tools |
| Birth, death, and marriage | RUHS, Riverside ACR, and CDPH | Order portals, not a broad recent index | Authorized or informational copies; record-specific fees |
| Custody and registries | Riverside Sheriff, CDCR, and California DOJ | Agency lookup tools | Current public data with legal-use limits |
California law does not make every government file open. Sealed and confidential court information stays offline. Juvenile and adoption material is restricted. Recent vital certificates use an authorized-copy and informational-copy split. Protected addresses may also be withheld. A public index is only a finding aid, not proof that the full document may be viewed.
Wildomar City Records by Date
The Wildomar Online Records Library opens agendas, minutes, ordinances, resolutions, planning projects, building permits, and municipal code material. It also offers a word or phrase search. The city warns that not every file has been digitized, so a failed search should move to a City Clerk request.
July 1, 2008 is the key boundary. Wildomar incorporated on that date. City building permits are filed alphabetically by street name, but permits from before incorporation must be requested from Riverside County. Police and accident reports also follow a county route because Wildomar contracts with the Riverside County Sheriff. Calling 951-245-3300 is the stated report-copy channel. Fire incident requests and fees go to the Riverside County Fire custodian at 210 West San Jacinto Avenue, Perris, CA 92570. Questions may be asked by email or at 951-943-4970, and reports are normally sent within two weeks.
Note: An address search should check both sides of the incorporation date before treating a missing Wildomar permit as a missing record.
Search Wildomar Recorder Records
The Riverside Official Records Search and Copies portal is the county index for deeds, liens, maps, and clerk documents. Recorder documents begin January 1, 1974. Clerk documents begin January 1, 1893. Search modes include name, document number, document type, map book and page, and advanced combinations. A name should be entered as last name, first name, and middle initial. A last name plus first initial casts a wider net.
| Search Field | Input Kind | Required | Format or Use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Name | Text | For name mode | Last First MI; organization as spelled |
| Recording Date Start | Date | No | Sets the first date searched |
| Recording Date End | Date | No | Sets the last date searched |
| Document Types | Multiple choice | No | Limits results by recorded document class |
| Advanced Name Search | Option | No | Opens exact, wildcard, sound, and fuzzy tools |
Search access is free, but copies are not. Each document costs $8 for the first page and $1 for each added page, plus $2 for certification. Online processing averages 48 hours and adds a 2.15% card fee. Check the selected record before ordering because completed copy orders are not refundable.
- Index
- A list used to locate a filing. It is not the full recorded image.
- Certified copy
- A copy authenticated by the custodian for an official use.
- Custodian
- The agency responsible for keeping and releasing a record.
- Exemption
- A law-based reason that some or all of a government record may be withheld.
Wildomar Records Numbering Quirk
Riverside recorder document numbers changed format on December 23, 2003. They began with six digits and then moved to seven. The exact search format uses a four-digit year, a hyphen, and a number with any needed leading zeros, such as 2000-000001.
Spelling tools add another local advantage. The dollar sign requests a sound-alike match, while a question mark allows a possible wrong letter. Asterisks and fuzzy searches can catch more variants. These operators help with compound surnames, initials, spelling shifts, and old index entries without changing the official record.
Wildomar Records Offices and Portals
The city, recorder, assessor, and sheriff each answer a different request. Riverside County ACR encourages appointments and asks visitors to complete applications before arriving. Its two Riverside counters keep weekday hours from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The cards below preserve the correct phone and access route.

Older land files deserve special care. The Robert J. Fitch County Archives holds original records on property ownership, valuation, mining and water interests, and Board actions beginning in 1893. It is the county fallback when the online recorder window is too recent.
Wildomar Court Records Costs
Wildomar trial cases are filed with Riverside Superior Court, not a city court. The Public Access service requires an account. A case-number search is free, while a party-name search uses paid credits. One credit costs $1, and plans rise through 5, 10, 75, or unlimited monthly search options. The portal limits use to 30 searches or case lookups in five minutes.
The official Riverside Search Cases interface shows the available case routes.
A matching name result supplies case numbers and filing dates. Selecting a case number opens the register of actions, which lists filed documents, dates, and filing parties. Allowed document downloads cost $1 per page for the first five pages and $0.50 for later pages, capped at $50 per document. Certified copies use form RI-MC011 through eSubmit, mail, or a courthouse drop box. Sealed and confidential material remains unavailable.
Note: Court name search and case-number search reach the same system, but their price and starting information differ.
Wildomar Property Records and Maps
RivCoView accepts a property address or nine-digit PIN/APN without hyphens. An APN is the assessor parcel number assigned to land for assessment. The portal then offers assessment, sales, permits, area, census, education, and map-layer tabs. Map My County adds parcel and recorded-map layers.
Assessor maps and property records are not interchangeable. The map PDF can show APNs, parcel and lot boundaries, dimensions, acreage, street widths, nearby parcels, and recorded map references. It does not show owner names or street addresses. Use the APN from the map to return to the property portal, then use a person or document number in the recorder index for recorded transfers.
Compare the tools. RivCoView links an address to a parcel. The recorder index links names to filed documents. The assessor map explains the parcel shape and references.
Wildomar Vital Records Copy Rules
Riverside University Health System registers county births and deaths and issues copies for the current and prior year. Riverside ACR issues birth and death certificates for all years once it receives the records, plus marriage certificates for licenses issued in Riverside County. CDPH maintains statewide birth, death, fetal death, marriage, and divorce material.
California Health and Safety Code section 103526 limits authorized certified copies to listed people. Others may obtain a certified informational copy marked as invalid for establishing identity. Online authorized orders require identity verification. If that check fails or is declined, a notarized sworn statement is required. In-person applicants keep their order number, bring identification for an authorized copy, and may pay by card, check, money order, or cash. Mail and drop-box applications require the right form, notarization, and a check or money order sent to P.O. Box 751, Riverside, CA 92502-0751. Fees effective January 1, 2026 are $34 for birth, $26 for death, and $19 for marriage or confidential marriage. A failed search produces a Certificate of No Record, but the search fee is not refunded.
Wildomar Custody Records Lookup
County custody information comes from the Riverside Sheriff. Its inmate form requires a last name and allows a first name and date of birth. State prison information comes from CDCR CIRIS, where official descriptions list the person's name, CDCR number, age, current location, commitment counties, admission date, and parole hearing dates or outcomes.
The Riverside Sheriff inmate system shows the county search form used for Wildomar custody records.
The mandatory last-name field sets it apart from a general keyword search. California's Megan's Law registry is updated daily by law enforcement under Penal Code section 290.46. VINE offers free, confidential custody and case-status alerts. These sources should be used for lawful personal safety and with close attention to each agency's posted limits.
Wildomar License Records Statewide
State databases cover records that no Wildomar or Riverside County desk keeps. The Department of Consumer Affairs verifies board and bureau licenses and notes current, expired, suspended, or revoked status where applicable.
The official California DCA License Search provides the public license interface.
License results can confirm the agency record and status without relying on a private listing. Business entity records follow a separate path through the Secretary of State.
Wildomar Business Records Search
California business filings cover corporations, limited liability companies, and limited partnerships. They are distinct from Wildomar permits and Riverside County fictitious business records.
The California bizfile Online search covers corporations, limited liability companies, and limited partnerships.
Public filings may identify an entity's status, filing history, and names or addresses released by the state. Unclaimed property is another distinct state file.
Wildomar Unclaimed Property Records
California's unclaimed property file can connect a person's name with a former address and property held by the state. It is a separate custodian and claim process, not a county deed record.
The California Controller unclaimed property search is free to use.
The Controller says there is no deadline and no state fee to claim property already transferred to its care. Names and former addresses can help distinguish one person from another, but the claim process requires the state's proof steps.
Wildomar Property Record Warnings
Public deed data can prompt private solicitation mail. Riverside County warned in 2026 that it does not send unsolicited letters demanding payment for a property profile or deed copy. Official copies come straight from ACR at the published county rate.
The Riverside ACR real estate fraud page explains the county's Courtesy Notice program.
Since September 1, 2011, ACR has sent a notice when a deed, deed of trust, or similar document is recorded. A known transaction needs no response. An unknown filing is a reason to verify the document and contact the appropriate county office or the District Attorney Real Estate Fraud Unit.
Requesting Wildomar Public Records
The California Public Records Act is codified at Government Code section 7920.000 and following. Government Code section 7922.535 gives an agency ten days to decide whether it has disclosable responsive records and to state its determination. Ten days is not a production deadline. Large, offsite, or review-heavy sets may take a reasonable additional period.
The Wildomar online request form routes city requests to the City Clerk. The city asks for a specific description and does not have to create a new file or release exempt material.
- Identify who created the record. Choose the city, county, court, or state custodian.
- Search the official index or library first. Record useful names, dates, case numbers, APNs, and document numbers.
- Submit the custodian's form, online request, mail request, or counter application with a narrow description.
- Ask for the preferred format and an estimate when copy, certification, search, or card fees may apply.
- Review the agency's response. Narrow an overbroad request or ask for the cited exemption when material is withheld.
Lawful personal use. Open records support genealogy, estate work, civic review, fraud checks, and personal safety. Never use a record to stalk, harass, threaten, or harm anyone.
A portal is only one access channel. The Wildomar clerk form covers undigitized city files. ACR offers online ordering and two counters. Court certified copies use eSubmit, mail, or a drop box. County and state archives handle older material that has no complete web index.
